Villa San Giacomo is one of Positano’s most iconic properties. Dating back to 1741, it sits on the “golden hill” of Liparlati and enjoys sunlight from dawn to dusk. The villa offers breathtaking views across the Mediterranean Sea. Just a 10-minute walk from the lively center of Positano, it feels like a peaceful, hidden oasis. Surrounded by lush pergolas and colorful houses, it blends elegance with serenity. With its grand terrace, timeless interiors, and historic charm, it was the perfect home base for Desiree and Hank’s destination celebration.

The day began early in the morning at the villa, where both the bride and groom prepared for the celebration ahead. Desiree radiated in a custom gown by Calla Blanche, featuring feather details and a dramatic mantilla. Alessandro Mancino styled her hair and makeup to perfection. She embraced a bold yet sophisticated look that made a striking statement against the villa’s sunlit backdrop. She looked like a Hollywood diva, the perfect expression of her strong, creative, and magnetic personality. Hank dressed in a classic tuxedo, surrounded by his friends as he got ready for the day.

Desiree and Hank wanted their portrait session to be an essential part of the day. We crafted a long, meaningful session to celebrate their surroundings and their story. We began in the heart of Positano, wandering through charming streets and vibrant corners. The session continued on the beach, framed by iconic cliffs and colorful houses. Next, they set off on a private boat ride, a dreamy escape with breathtaking views of Positano from the sea. We ended the session back at Villa San Giacomo, capturing timeless portraits throughout the villa’s interiors and panoramic terraces.

APERITIVO & DINNER

Back at Villa San Giacomo, the couple welcomed their guests with an elegant Italian aperitivo in the garden. Surrounded by fragrant blooms and sweeping views of the coastline, the atmosphere was simply enchanting. As the sun began to set, the celebration moved to the villa’s covered terrace, where dinner unfolded in timeless style. The space was styled to perfection with lush arrangements by Flora Garden Positano. The palette of soft whites, pale pinks, sage green, and touches of deep purple created a refined yet organic atmosphere.

I especially loved the floral styling by Aldo of Flora Garden: a stunning long centerpiece of orchids, pampas, and roses, beautifully complemented by a cascade of delicate white flowers falling from the pergola ceiling. The setup was incredibly curated and truly breathtaking. Desiree, a true lover of long dinners (even if Hank calls her a “lingerer”), had planned the evening to allow for plenty of time to eat, drink, and savor conversations. Candlelight filled the space, creating a warm glow as speeches were shared, laughter echoed, and memories were made.

DANCING & SPARKLERS

After dinner, the celebration continued with their romantic first dance, a beautiful moment beneath the Italian night sky. While not everyone was expected to hit the dance floor, the music soon had guests of all ages joining in. The evening ended with a sparkler exit, the couple glowing with happiness as they walked through the lights, hand in hand.
